It is the sequel to Steven Spielberg’s Jaw and the second installment in the Jaws franchise. It is generally regarded as one of the best sequels of the Jaws movies. It is directed by Jeannot Szwarc and produced by Richard D. Zanuck and David Brown.

Its star cast includes most of the same cast of Jaws 1975 i.e. Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton.

The movie cost the studio $30 million and earned $208 million at the box office. It received mixed reviews from the audience, while some believed that the movie is not equivalent to the original, and many regard this film as the best of the sequels.

The story of the film is very similar to the original one released in 1975. The story starts after four years, when the first white shark was destroyed, again beginning the terrifying sequence of the disappearance of beachgoers of Amity Island.

When the second white horrendous much larger shark begins terrorizing the waters, then-Police Chief Brody undertakes the task of protecting the people of Amity from the shark attacks.

The shark of Jaws 2 was nasty but lacked the ferocity of the white shark of the original movie ‘Jaws’.

Some of the captivating horror scenes of the movie include the helicopter scene and boat crash. The film also has some great underwater shots. If you have watched the first one and want to see the same story again with different scenes, we recommend watching Jaws 2.

A group of marine biologists tries to capture the shark. In 1983, the disposable cardboard polarised 3D glasses worn by the theater audience while watching the movie created the illusion of elements penetrating the screens and coming close to them.

Ellen Brody expresses her belief that the great white shark is seeking revenge on the Brody family, as it has killed her son and has followed her to the Bahamas.

The film brings in the notorious tagline- ‘This time, it’s personal.’ “Jaws: The Revenge” is, by like-mindedness, a terrible film but to its credit, it is well-photographed and the score music is appealing and somehow was able to inject dramatic tension into the scenes.
